New hope for seniors: gentler treatment aims to keep breast cancer at bay

NCT ID NCT03587740

Summary

This study is testing a drug called T-DM1 to see if it can help prevent a specific type of breast cancer (HER2-positive) from returning after surgery in patients aged 60 and older. The drug is designed to target cancer cells directly, which may lead to fewer side effects compared to standard chemotherapy. Researchers want to see if this approach is safe and effective for long-term disease control in this older population.
