New hope for advanced breast cancer: drug combo trial launches

Summary
This study tests a new drug (GDC-4198) alone or with another drug (giredestrant) for people with advanced ER+/HER2- breast cancer that has worsened after prior treatment. About 285 participants will be enrolled to see if the new combination is safer or works better than an existing treatment. The goal is to control the cancer, not cure it.
