New drug duo tested to shrink aggressive breast cancer before surgery

Summary
This study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, trastuzumab deruxtecan and durvalumab, can shrink tumors before surgery in people with stage III inflammatory breast cancer that expresses the HER2 protein. The goal is to see if this treatment can eliminate all detectable cancer in the breast and lymph nodes by the time of surgery. About 63 adults who have not yet received treatment for this specific cancer are needed for the study.
