Drug trial aims to stop breast cancer before it spreads

NCT ID NCT06613516

Summary

This study aimed to see if a drug called Capivasertib could help prevent breast cancer from coming back. It focused on women with a specific type of breast cancer who had finished their main treatment but had tiny traces of cancer DNA in their blood, which is an early warning sign the cancer might return. The plan was to give these women the drug for up to two years to see if it could clear this cancer DNA from their blood and stop the disease from spreading.
