First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether changes in gut bacteria are linked to cancer-related weight and muscle loss (cachexia) in women with breast cancer who receive care at home. About 140 participants will provide blood, stool, and urine samples and answer questionnaires. Some will take a probiotic mixture or a placebo for 12 weeks to see if it improves their nutritional health and gut bacteria balance.
