New trial aims to reduce arm problems after breast cancer surgery

Summary
This international trial is comparing two different approaches for treating breast cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes under the arm. It will test whether a less extensive surgery followed by radiation leads to better quality of life and less arm swelling than the standard, more extensive surgery. The study will involve over 1,000 patients who are having surgery as their first treatment.
