Weight may affect how breast cancer drugs work, study suggests
NCT ID NCT02095184
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study aimed to find out if standard doses of aromatase inhibitors (hormone-blocking pills) work differently in overweight or obese postmenopausal women with early breast cancer compared to normal-weight women. About 42 women were planned to take anastrozole or letrozole before surgery to see how their tumors responded. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
