No squeeze, no X-Ray: new breast cancer test could change screening

NCT ID NCT06498388

First seen Jun 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study is testing a new method called BRAVE that uses sound waves to measure breast tissue stiffness, aiming to find cancer without X-rays or painful compression. Researchers will enroll 300 women who have a breast lump to see how well this technique tells the difference between harmless and cancerous masses. If successful, it could offer a more comfortable screening option, especially for women with dense breasts.
