First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study uses focused ultrasound to gently stimulate parts of the brain responsible for vision and hearing in 20 healthy adults aged 21-55. The goal is to find the best ultrasound settings to reliably produce visual flashes or sounds, which will help improve future treatments for brain disorders like chronic pain and depression. Participants will report what they perceive while their brain activity is measured with EEG.
