First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests a new technology called focused ultrasound, which uses sound waves to gently stimulate specific brain areas. Researchers will apply this to the vision and hearing centers of 20 healthy adults to see how it affects perception. The goal is to find the best settings for this technique, which may one day help treat brain disorders like chronic pain or depression.
