Brain 'Window': ultrasound could shed light on coma Patients' hidden consciousness
NCT ID NCT06693492
Summary
This study is exploring if a bedside ultrasound scan of the brain can help doctors better understand and diagnose patients with severe consciousness disorders, like being in a coma or a minimally conscious state. Researchers will use ultrasound to look at brain structure and function in 100 patients who have had a serious brain injury. The goal is to find a more affordable and accessible way to measure consciousness, which could lead to better care and future treatments tailored to each patient's needs.
