Scientists try sonic blasts to breach brain barrier in fight against deadly Kids' cancer

NCT ID NCT05630209

Summary

This study is testing a new approach for treating a rare and aggressive brain tumor in children called DIPG. Researchers are using focused ultrasound waves to temporarily open the brain's protective barrier, aiming to help a chemotherapy drug (doxorubicin) reach the tumor more effectively. The main goals are to see if this combined procedure is safe and feasible for pediatric patients.
