Breath-Hold scan could sharpen brain maps for surgeons

NCT ID NCT03604302

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special breath-holding MRI scan to the standard pre-surgery brain mapping process makes it more accurate. Researchers want to see if this combined approach better identifies critical brain areas involved in speech and movement, which surgeons need to avoid during tumor removal. The goal is to improve surgical planning and potentially reduce risks for patients with brain tumors.
