Doctors test 'Touch' for tumors: ultrasound measures brain stiffness in surgery

NCT ID NCT06630338

Not yet recruiting Knowledge-focused Sponsor: Mayo Clinic Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study is testing a special ultrasound tool to measure how stiff brain tissue and tumors are during surgery. Researchers want to see if this tool works well and if stiffness differs between healthy brain and tumor areas. The information could help surgeons better identify tumor edges in future operations. This is an observational study, meaning the tool is tested during patients' standard surgery without changing their treatment.
