Glowing dye could help surgeons spot hidden brain cancer in kids

NCT ID NCT04085887

Summary

This study is testing a new imaging agent called panitumumab-IRDye800 to see if it is safe and can help surgeons better see brain tumors during surgery in children and young adults. The dye is designed to make tumor cells glow under special lights, potentially helping surgeons remove more of the cancer while sparing healthy brain tissue. The main goal is to check the safety of the dye and find the best dose, while also seeing how well it helps identify leftover tumor cells.
