Implanted 'Tap' could unlock brain tumor secrets

NCT ID NCT04692337

Summary

This study is testing the safety and practicality of placing a small, permanent device called an Ommaya reservoir during brain tumor surgery. The device, placed under the scalp, allows doctors to easily collect spinal fluid multiple times after surgery. The goal is to use these repeated fluid samples to discover better biological markers (biomarkers) for brain tumors, which could speed up future research and help tailor treatments to individual patients.
