NCT ID NCT05198726
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at whether combining a computer-based brain training program (speed-of-processing training) with a gentle electrical current applied to the scalp (alpha-tACS) could help older adults with mild cognitive impairment think faster. The trial planned to enroll 40 adults aged 65 and older who had memory complaints. Participants would receive either real or fake (placebo) brain stimulation while doing the training, and their thinking speed and other mental skills would be measured. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
