Zapping the brain to boost memory? trial tests new combo therapy
NCT ID NCT05198726
Summary
This study tested whether combining a specific computer-based brain training program with a gentle, non-invasive form of electrical brain stimulation could improve mental processing speed in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. Researchers compared the effects of real stimulation versus a fake (sham) stimulation during the training to see if it helped people think faster and if those benefits spread to other areas like memory and language. The goal was to see if this combined approach could help control or slow down early memory decline.
