Brain scans reveal hidden damage in rare neurological diseases
NCT ID NCT05121012
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study uses special brain scans to look at damage to nerve cell connections (synapses) in people with two rare brain diseases: Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). About 36 adults aged 45-80 will be scanned over a year to track how the disease changes their brain. The goal is to better understand these conditions, not to test a treatment.
