Scientists probe Brain's fear center in groundbreaking study

NCT ID NCT05120635

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brain creates feelings of fear and anxiety in people with conditions like PTSD and generalized anxiety. Researchers will measure brain activity, heart rate, and skin responses in 80 participants who already have special brain-monitoring implants while they view fear-provoking images, sometimes using virtual reality. The goal is to gather knowledge about brain patterns, not to test a new treatment.
