Summary

This study aims to understand how severe stress in childhood affects the brain and leads to depression in some people. Researchers will use brain scans and other tests to look at chemical and functional differences in the brains of 160 young women who experienced childhood adversity. The goal is to learn more about the brain's biology to help identify people at risk and guide future treatments.
