Scientists scan brains to see why ads make us crave a drink
NCT ID NCT04067765
Summary
This study used brain scans to understand how seeing pictures of alcohol affects the decisions and cravings of heavy drinkers. Researchers scanned the brains of 72 non-treatment-seeking adults while they made hypothetical choices about buying drinks after viewing alcohol or neutral beverage images. The goal was to learn how the brain responds to alcohol cues, which could help explain why some people struggle to control their drinking.
