Scientists scan teen brains to spot depression before it starts

NCT ID NCT04105868

Summary

This study aimed to see if measuring how a teen's brain pays attention to negative information could predict their future risk for depression. Researchers used EEG brain scans and a special feedback training session with 15 teenage girls who had no history of depression. The goal was to gather knowledge that could one day help identify at-risk teens and guide future personalized prevention efforts.
