Scientists map how dementia affects Brain's thinking center

NCT ID NCT02236832

Summary

This research study aimed to understand how the brain's frontal lobe works during thinking tasks like categorization and analogical reasoning. Researchers compared brain activity in 130 participants—some with frontal dementia conditions and some healthy volunteers—using cognitive tests, brain imaging (MRI), and brain wave recordings (EEG). The goal was to learn how these brain disorders affect thinking processes, not to test treatments.
