Scientists peer deeper into the brain to unlock Epilepsy's secrets
NCT ID NCT05132543
Summary
This study aims to better understand how the brain works during thinking, memory, and language, and how epilepsy affects these processes. Researchers will work with 38 patients who are already having surgery for hard-to-treat epilepsy, using new, tiny electrode grids placed on the brain's surface. The goal is to gather detailed information that could one day lead to better ways to detect and understand seizures, but this study itself is for observation and learning, not direct treatment.
