Scientists zap brains to unlock Depression's secrets
NCT ID NCT04276259
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the brain's reward system influences responses to depression treatments. Researchers tested 120 adults with depression using non-invasive brain stimulation and two different medications to see how they affected brain activity during a reward task. The goal was to identify new targets for future depression therapies by observing how these interventions changed brain signals.
