Brain zap trial offers hope for untreatable pain

NCT ID NCT07057206

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a surgically implanted brain stimulation device can reduce severe, long-lasting nerve pain. It will involve about 20 adults whose pain hasn't improved with standard medications or less invasive treatments. Researchers aim to see if the device is safe and feasible to use, and if it provides meaningful pain relief compared to a fake stimulation.
