Scientists zap Kids' brains to unlock OCD secrets

NCT ID NCT04548609

Summary

This small, terminated study aimed to understand how a mild, non-invasive brain stimulation technique affects specific thinking patterns in children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Researchers tested how stimulation influenced things like impulse control and fear memory in 6-17 year olds with moderate to severe OCD. The goal was to learn about the brain mechanisms behind OCD, not to provide treatment.
