Scientists map Brain's electrical currents in groundbreaking study
NCT ID NCT02263274
Summary
This study aimed to measure exactly how a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS creates electrical fields in the brain. Researchers worked with 30 adults who already had electrodes implanted in their brains for epilepsy surgery planning. By measuring the currents directly from these electrodes, the goal was to improve computer models so future brain stimulation treatments can be more precise and effective for various conditions.
