First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle electric current applied to a memory-related brain area can improve word-finding in people who have had a traumatic brain injury. Fourteen adults with long-standing word-finding problems received either real or fake stimulation and took language and memory tests. The goal was to see if the stimulation could ease their daily struggle to recall words.
