Zapping the brain to relearn walking?
NCT ID NCT03790657
Summary
This study explored whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique could help older adults with walking difficulties learn and remember new walking skills, like stepping over obstacles. Researchers tested 72 older adults, using the stimulation during walking practice and brain scans to see how the brain changes. The goal was to understand the brain mechanisms behind learning to walk better, to potentially improve future rehabilitation methods.
