Zapping depression? new brain stimulation trial offers hope for toughest cases
NCT ID NCT06236711
Summary
This small study is testing if a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS is practical and acceptable for hospitalized adults with severe depression that hasn't responded to other treatments. Over five days, participants receive short stimulation sessions while researchers check if it's feasible to do and if it might help ease depression symptoms and improve thinking. The main goal is to see if this approach is worth studying in larger trials, not to prove it works yet.
