Magnetic pulses to the brain: a new hope for teens in deepest depression?

NCT ID NCT07217444

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation treatment is safe and helpful for teenagers hospitalized with severe depression. Researchers will use a magnetic coil placed on the head to stimulate specific brain areas, comparing it to a fake (sham) treatment. The goal is to see if this approach reduces depression symptoms and suicidal thoughts, and helps teens stay out of the hospital after they go home.
