Magnetic pulses to the brain tested to lift mood in bipolar teens

NCT ID NCT05929183

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive brain stimulation technique to see if it could help reduce depressive episodes in adolescents and young adults with bipolar disorder. Researchers used a method called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), guided by brain imaging, to target a specific visual area of the brain. They also wanted to understand if there was unusual brain activity related to mood during depression.
