Zap your brain to walk again? new stroke rehab study

NCT ID NCT03666533

Summary

This study tested if a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique could boost the benefits of walking therapy for stroke survivors. Forty-four people who had a stroke more than six months earlier and had trouble walking received either real or fake brain stimulation during treadmill training. Researchers wanted to see if the combination helped people walk faster and more steadily than therapy alone.
