Brain zaps for stroke arm: study ends after just one patient

NCT ID NCT03323255

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether a single session of magnetic brain stimulation (called rTMS) could improve pointing movements in the affected arm of stroke survivors. The plan was to compare real stimulation to a fake (sham) session in a small group of people. However, only one person enrolled before the study was stopped, so no meaningful conclusions can be drawn.
