Zapping the brain to quiet Schizophrenia's voices?

NCT ID NCT02744989

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS could help reduce persistent symptoms in people with schizophrenia who were already taking medication. 141 participants received either real or fake (sham) stimulation sessions over 5 days to see if the real treatment led to a meaningful reduction in symptoms like hallucinations and social withdrawal. The goal was to see if this safe, painless method could be a helpful add-on therapy for hard-to-treat symptoms.
