Magnetic pulses target depression in schizophrenia

NCT ID NCT05671185

Summary

This study is testing a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy to help reduce depression in people with schizophrenia. Depression is common in schizophrenia and can increase suicide risk, but current antidepressants often don't work well enough. Researchers will use magnetic pulses on the brain to see if they can ease depressive symptoms, along with other schizophrenia symptoms like social withdrawal and low motivation.
