Brain zapping study seeks to uncover how stimulation calms PTSD and depression
NCT ID NCT07327385
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at how two different types of noninvasive brain stimulation change brain activity and the body's stress response in people with both PTSD and major depression. Fifty adults will receive both active and sham (fake) stimulation in a random order, with brain and heart measurements taken right before and after each session. The goal is to understand the immediate effects of these treatments, not to test a cure or long-term relief.
