Scientists zap brain to boost metabolism in obesity fight
NCT ID NCT01933113
Summary
This study tested different settings for a deep brain stimulation device already implanted in three people with severe obesity. The goal was to see which electrical settings best increased the body's resting metabolic rate, which is how many calories you burn at rest. Researchers carefully measured metabolism changes over a week to find the optimal setting for helping with weight control.
