Scientists test brain implants to restore movement control

Summary

This study aims to better understand how deep brain stimulation (DBS) affects movement, speech, and swallowing in people with movement disorders. Researchers will recruit 60 patients who already have DBS implants to perform tasks with the stimulation turned on and off. The goal is to measure how electrical stimulation of specific brain areas improves motor control and communication abilities.
