Zapping the brain to fight memory loss

NCT ID NCT03875326

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle electrical stimulation applied to the scalp could help improve memory and thinking in people with mild cognitive impairment or early Alzheimer's disease. Researchers gave different amounts of stimulation to 269 participants while using brain scans to see how it affected brain activity. The goal was to find out if this non-invasive treatment could help slow memory decline and who might benefit most from it.
