Zap to the head may slow memory loss

NCT ID NCT06783283

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation applied to the scalp can improve working memory in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a condition that often precedes Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will enroll 20 participants aged 60+ with MCI to receive either the real stimulation or a sham version during 10 sessions over two weeks. The main goals are to see if the treatment is practical to deliver and if it can improve the brain's memory networks and thinking skills.
