Zapping the brain to boost memory after stroke – new trial launched

NCT ID NCT07573501

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation to the brain can improve working memory in people who have memory problems after a stroke. Twenty-four participants will receive either real or fake (sham) stimulation for 40 minutes a day for 5 days. Researchers will measure memory performance and brain activity before and after the treatment to see if the real stimulation helps more than the fake one.
