Zapping the brain to soothe the gut: new IBS study explores Mind-Gut link

NCT ID NCT07345377

Summary

This study is exploring if a non-invasive brain stimulation treatment can improve symptoms like pain and discomfort in adults with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Researchers will give participants 10 sessions of gentle magnetic pulses to the scalp over two weeks. They will also use brain scans and stool samples to try to understand how the treatment might work by looking at connections between the brain, gut, and gut bacteria.
