Magnetic pulses to the brain tested for easing IBS pain

NCT ID NCT06409078

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could reduce chronic gut pain in people with a specific type of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS-D). 42 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real magnetic stimulation or a sham (fake) treatment to see if it improved their symptoms. Researchers also used brain scans to try to understand how the treatment might work.
