Brain zap test aims to stop shakes without side effects

NCT ID NCT04828798

Summary

This study tests whether a newer, more focused type of deep brain stimulation can better control essential hand tremor than the standard type. Researchers will compare how well each method reduces shaking while trying to avoid side effects like slurred speech or balance problems. The trial involves 24 people with long-term, medication-resistant tremor.
