Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation treatment could reduce chronic pain, headaches, and depression in veterans with Gulf War Illness. Researchers enrolled 204 veterans who served in the 1990-1991 Gulf War and experienced significant daily pain. The treatment involved repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), which uses magnetic pulses to target specific brain areas without surgery or medication.
