Brain pacemaker tested to stop binge eating

NCT ID NCT03868670

Summary

This early study is testing whether a small, implanted brain stimulator can help people who struggle with severe loss of control over eating. The device, similar to those used for epilepsy, is being tried in six people with severe obesity who have not been helped by surgery or other therapies. The main goals are to see if the device is safe and if it can reduce episodes of uncontrollable eating.
