Zapping the brain to stop falls? new hope for cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT06610617

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique could immediately improve balance in older women who survived breast, ovarian, or endometrial cancer. Researchers wanted to see if stimulating a specific brain area could help the brain better process sensory information needed for stable posture, potentially reducing fall risk. The study compared the effects of a single session of real stimulation versus a sham (fake) stimulation on balance and thinking tests.
